Question: What are the oil platforms and wells?
Answer: Deep holes drilled for extracting the oil are called as “wells” and the area of these wells in sea are called as “oil platforms”. Oil recovery from wells located in Iran were equivalent to 4,325,000 barrels on 2008. Each crude oil barrel is equivalent to 159 liters.During oil extraction, gas is also brought up but this gas is burned off for safety reasons.

Question: What is the history of extracting oil in Iran?
Answer: The exploration of oil in Iran dates back 4000 years ago. Ancient Iran used oil as a combustible material and to tar ships, buildings and roofs. Ignited tar was used by Nader shah in the war against the Indians. In some of the ancient temples in Iran they used natural gas to increase the heat from fire and based on historical reports the dervish had an oil well and earned from selling it.

پاسخ:سابقه اکتشاف نفت در ایران به حدود 4000 سال پیش می‌رسد. ایرانیان باستان به عنوان مواد سوختی و قیراندود کردن کشتی‌ها ، ساختمانها و پشت بامها از این مواد استفاده می کردند. نادر شاه در جنگ با سپاهیان هند قیر را آتش زد و مورد استفاده قرار داد. در بعضی از معابد ایران باستان برای افروختن آتش از گاز طبیعی استفاده شده و بر اساس یک گزارش تاریخی یک درویش در حوالی باکو چاه نفتی داشته که از فروش آن امرار معاش می‌کرده است.
