Answer:When someone dies, heirs may be able to apply for a ‘grant of representation’. This gives heirs the legal right to deal with the person’s property, money and possessions
Probate is a legal process that takes place when someone dies. It includes:
1. proving to the court that a deceased person’s will is valid (usually a routine matter)
2. Identifying and making an inventory of the deceased person’s property
3. having the property appraised
4. Paying debts and taxes, etc.
